 About Daytona Beach.........

When people think of Daytona, the word NASCAR comes to mind.  This is where auto racing really got started, they used to race on the sands of the beach.  The tradition continues with the massive Daytona International Speedway and Daytona USA.

It is on the east central coast of Florida between Cape Canaveral and St Augustine.  About 4 hours drive north of West Palm Beach, and a straight drive on I-4 from Tampa

At the grand height of 10 feet above sea level, the town is right on the beach and you can when the tide is right drive on the beach.  The Halifax river is nearby and their is an amusement pier at the beach  Also not to miss to the south is the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse.
